Kinetic Skilled & Trades are currently looking for a Centre Lathe Turner. It would be advantageous if you can also operate other conventional machine tools such as borers and millers. Ideally someone from the Steel industry. This role is a temporary to permanent role based on days in the west Greater Manchester/Mersey Cheshire area.

The Steel Erectors-Riggers, will need to move lift prepare steel work ready for welding marking up, grinding, cutting etc. Sites London an Essex, Assist it setting up for welding then erection fitting of structural steel work . Able to read drawings, measure mark up. Must have LUL an CSCS cards for underground rail work ideally Confined Space Cert. Ideally should have current rigging slinging and crane op certs an advantage temp work 3 - 6 weeks. Hours 0630 - 1830 days mon - sun 13 - 17 per hr 1830 - 0630 Nights 15 - 20 per hour mon - sun 

A Health & Safety Officer is required with experience in the construction industry (preferably structural steel) to undertake H&S inspections / audits on active sites. You will be based in Poole and travelling 3-4 days per week within the Southern counties and London area.

The successful candidate will ensure that the H&S policies are being implemented and followed by the management and employees.

Duties to include:

Safety, health and environmental inspections / audits are carried out in accordance with company procedures, resulting in identifying areas of weakness, providing recommendations back to the business, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed out.

Providing monthly SHE reports to the Directors and attending Management Meetings.

Provison of advice, support and coaching on all matters concerning safety & environmental.

Investigating the causes of reportable accidents and incidents and provide written reports to the Directors and senior management.

Assist in developing current and future Group policies.

Keeping Directors and senior management up-to-date with any legislation changes.

As a minimum must have H&S NEBOSH Diploma and IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management. 
 

We are looking for a Naval Architect for an initial 2 month contract near Aberdeen.

The work will involve modifications to a vessel and requires someone who has experience working with structural steelwork in a hands on capacity.

Candidate must be able to read steel drawings and ideally have a quality assirance background in construction.

Effectively carry out pre and post cast inspection on precast concrete components for the civils and structures market. Recording and documenting defects and non conformances. Supports management to develop a culture of continuous improvement in their area of responsibility.

Steel Erectors required for ongoing work at Gatwick. MUST HAVE CSCS & IPAF 

Site supervisors required for steel erection subcontractor. IPAF and PASMA tickets required, SSSTS ticket not essential but would be advantageous. We would also welcome applications from steel erectors for other future vacancies.

Contract positions but there will be an opportunity to extend or switch to permanent depending on performance.

Overview:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Subcontracts Agent to join our Subcontracts division within our client’s Procurement and Logistics team, based at site in Nottinghamshire. Responsibilities will include the effective formulation and administration of subcontracts whilst ensuring all contract and company requirements are met.
Must have steelwork erection experience.

Key Duties:
Reporting to the Site project manager and functionally the Manager of Subcontracts, key duties of the role are:
The creation, execution and delivery of project specific subcontract strategies.
The ability to build, develop and maintain relationships within a multi discipline team environment covering site and office based construction, engineering, procurement and project management staff.
The identification of potential competitive sources of supply, ensuring their capability in conjunction with the strategic sourcing representative.
The management of negotiations with potential subcontractor’s to obtain assessed bids that create competitive advantage for the company while mitigating potential risks.
The creation, award and management of subcontracts, including the management of change and their delivery within budget.
To provide data, as requested, to the manager subcontracts with respect to status, developments, issues and resolution on subcontract activity.

Minimum Qualifications:
ONC (or equivalent), Business Studies, Economics, Office Administration.

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant HNC/Degree qualification.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a subcontract function in a construction environment within the power generation, construction or process industrial sectors. An excellent communicator at all levels you will have good document management skills, the ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and a working knowledge of subcontract formulation, administration processes and best practice.
