The Company
Mackenzie Stuart is working with a Structural Steel contractor which completes a range of projects nationwide. They have a company turnover of £20 million. The average values of these projects are £100k-£5million. Despite the current economic climate, the company is going from strength to strength and is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
About the Role:
• Delivering projects on time and to the standards of the company and its clients.
• Representing the company by being a key contact for clients.
• Working both independently and as part of a team.
• Providing astute cost management advice, financial reporting as well as negotiating.
• Cost planning at all stages of design, interim valuations, managing change control and final accounts.
• Participate in presentations and meetings when required plus contribute to proposal documentation and team business plans.
About the Candidate:
• Must have a quantity surveying background within the Steel Industry
• Must have worked for Steel Fabricator in the past
• Able to work confidently as an individual and as part of a team.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for taking responsibility for delivering projects on time and too standard.
• A confident, good communicator with the social skills to motivate a diverse project team with stakeholders at all levels.

Job description
My client is a specialist provider of steel frame buildings, offering portable and modular building solutions.
They have secured a project in Stratford overseeing the Media Centre, catering building and lift construction.
Due to this recent success they need an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee this project on-site.
It is essential that suitable candidates have relevant construction experience as a working on modular build developments. Some M&E experience is also required (associated lifts etc).

Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen with a leading steelwork contractor with expertise in design, erection and fabrication of structural steel projects in the UAE and the Middle East.
This is a site based position and the incumbent will be responsible for dealing with monthly measurement/invoicing, all commercial aspects of the contract, variations, claims and final accounts etc.
You must have several years experience of having worked in steel construction i.e. must have steel fabrication and erection knowledge and experience.
The successful candidate will have 15+ years of experience in the Quantity Surveying field and have worked in the Middle East.
Although not essential, it is Ideal that you will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying and be a member of RICS/CIOB.
