The Company
A well established Derby based Structural Steel Firm. This company supply steel structures to large organisations in the Construction, Rail, and Telecommunications Industries. They specialise in Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel welding.
The Role
Having recently won a large bridge contract, we are looking for Skilled, Coded, MIG Welders, who are able to read engineering drawings.The weld testing/codings that we require are to cover Unbacked carbon steel plate 12mm butt welds. Preferably you will be coded to BSEN-287-1.

Job description
Initial 4 week Contract, Immediate Start
Due to winning a number of major projects with several high profile clients within the aerospace industry, this renowned manufacturer of chemical tanks and structural steel is currently experiencing a rapid increase in workload. With more projects expected in the next few days, the current workforce is already struggling to complete all work within time and budget. As a result, there is an urgent need for an experienced fabricator for contract work.
The role will involve:
• Working from engineering drawings.
• Use of guillotines, press brakes and some drills to produce fabrications.
• Metal thickness ranges from 6mm - 10mm.
• A small amount of welding if capable (not essential).
• Able to work autonomously.
The successful applicant must possess the following key skills and abilities:
• Time-served fabricator/sheet metal worker with a good track record of experience.
• Ideally an engineering qualification.
• Able to operate press brakes and guillotines.
• Commutable to site as money is not provided for accomodation.
• Able to work autonomously.
• In possession of your own tools.
The company will offer the successful applicant:
• £11 p/h Ltd or £9.75 PAYE.
• Some overtime available - 5-10 hours per week.
• An initial 4 week contract with extension opportunities.
• The opportunity to secure a role for a company experiencing a high increase in workload and projects.
• An immediate start.

• A renowned manufacturer of chemical tanks, vessels and structural steel. They supply into major aerospace OEMs, food and chemical plants.

They looking to recruit a number of fabricator/welders for this facility for a permenent contract.The ideal candidate will be apprenticed trained fabricators with a background of working with structural steelwork who have a good understanding of engineering drawings, and can MIG weld on carbon steel. There is an uplift for overtime.
